AND OPENS SALES TO MORE COUNTRIES

BY JON FLETCHER

Following their relaunch of sailings earlier this month.  Costa Cruises has worked on redesigning its itineraries for the 2020 winter season, which will sail from October to March and gradually reintroduce more ships and will be carrying more nationalities.  The initial 3 cruises from Trieste have been solely open to Italian nationals, as will be the initial cruise sailing on the Costa Diadema.

The good news is the remaining winter 2020 / 2021 cruises will be open to residents of European countries included in the Italian government's Sept. 7 decree.  This will include nationals from the following countries.

Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Hungary, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

Costa have said they will adapt this list should the Italian government make changes.

Costa Deliziosa's 7 day all-Italy itinerary will become available for residents of these European countries on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4.  Then from 10 October 2020, Costa Deliziosa will sail one-week cruises from Trieste to Greece. The ship's world cruise, departing Jan. 3, has also been confirmed.

Costa Smeralda will resume sailing on 10 October from Savona to sail the Western Mediterranean.

From November, Costa Diadema will offer a 12 day cruise itinerary to the Canary Islands and a 14 day itinerary Eastern and Southern Mediterranean itinerary to Egypt and Greece.

Costa’s remaining programme for October to March has been cancelled with the exception of the above and Costa Favolosa Caribbean programme, which is still being finalised and will be announced shortly.

Costa have emphasized that their safety protocols will be applied to all these sailing
